Let’s Build a Pollution-Free Planet

Plastic, one of the greatest inventions of mankind, has slowly turned from boon to bane. Our unquenchable appetite for it is polluting our planet with every passing second causing dreadful environmental hazards. This year the theme of the World Environment Day, hosted by India, is “Beat Plastic Pollution”. We all should pledge and join hands together to combat one of the greatest challenges of our time.

This is the high time we break the dependency on plastic which is causing severe environmental consequences. Across the globe, 1 million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute. Every year we use up to 5 trillion disposable plastic bags. In total, 50 per cent of the plastic we use is single use. We are clogging our habitats with plastic. Every year, up to 13 million tons of plastic get disposed into our oceans smothering the vulnerable marine life. The plastic that ends up in the oceans can circle the Earth four times in a single year, and it can persist for up to 1,000 years before it fully disintegrates.

We must work together to reduce the burden of plastic usage and operate under the ethos of practicing 3 R’s - Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. If we can’t reuse it, we must refuse it.

At BFW, we practice eco-conscious and energy-efficient manufacturing processes that protect the planet Earth from exploitation and conserves natural resources. We are the first Indian machine tool company to get ISO 14001:2004 (EMS) certification. We have a solid waste management system in place. We dispose plastic waste, wooden scrapes, waste paper, packing materials, sheet metal scrap, commercial packing scrap using an environmental-friendly practice and remove them from our manufacturing process altogether.

This is the high time we find sustainable ways to grow; take responsibility of our planet and protect it from the hazardous monster, plastic. Let’s act NOW before it’s all over.
